the Bisbee Radio Project, Inc. This non-profit endeavor was dedicated to bringing radio to Bisbee. Automated KBRP went on the air on November 21, 2004. Live programming began on the Winter Solstice, December 21, 2004. In December of 2005, funds were raised within the community to hoist the antenna from the low point in Brewery Gulch to the top of the Central School Project Bell Tower. This strategic placement more than doubled the number of listeners who dwell in the winding canyons of the Mule Mountains. Creating a community-run radio where there was has been a true challenge for Bisbeeites, but the dream has become a reality. Participant Members dedicate their time and talents to manage all aspects of the radio station and are learning the myriad skills involved in running a full-time radio: studio-to transmitter technology, FCC rules and regulations, digital broadcasting, library maintenance and the production of programs, software programming, web design, news gathering, fund raising, database maintenance and the daily negotiation of creating and working together in community. KBRP was glad to make the move from the Brewery Gultch location to the Central School Project in the fall of 2008. KBRP is a bustling hub of activity, creation, fun, and information. KBRP Members produce a daily community calendar, animal rescue updates, local news, music, book reviews, educational programs and interviews. Now that KBRP is a Pacifica Network Affiliate, a National Federation of Community Broadcasters Participant Member, and a member of the World Association of Radio Broadcasters, it shares programming with a world- wide network of radio stations.

still - that is about three generations' worth of human beings who, within the twenty kilometer radius that is UCT Radio's footprint, have been getting brilliantly bombarded with our radical flavour of broadcasting. Factor into that equation the global audience which, with the advent of our on-line streaming facility, has been able to eavesdrop on our deejays' quirky conversations, off-kilter tune selection, and brilliant production, and you have yourself a truly revolutionary community radio station which, it should be said, serves the community with Maximum Respect (tm). By the way, 'Revolution' is the key word under which we are operating this year! UCT Radio is part and parcel of the University of Cape Town's twenty two thousand-strong (and still counting) academic community. According to the write-up on the UCT website, we are ' a student-run, campus-community station, catering not only to the students and staff of UCT but also secondary school pupils and the broader youth community of Cape Town'. It should also be said though that we are 'the biggest campus station in Cape Town and the only one licensed to broadcast to the metropole'.

rapid rate, Sawt El Ghad, in 1999, extended its culture to neighboring Syria. The international broadcasting of Sawt El Ghad, also became feasible in 2000, via a live audio link on www.sawtelghad.com. In the same year, an important goal was met, when Sawt El Ghad was officially declared the most listened to Arabic radio station in Lebanon, by several Lebanese and Arabic statistics companies and has proudly held that title ever since. It is worth mentioning that in 2002, Sawt El Ghad through its elaborate technology and specialized engineers became the first Lebanese radio station broadcasting to Aleppo, Syria. In early 2003 Sawt El Ghad also reached more than 5 million Arabs in Australia by broadcasting directly on 1620 AM thus giving the Lebanese Diaspora a taste of their way back home. In 2005 Sawt El Ghad witnessed its expansion to Jordan where it is broadcast on 101.5 MHz from the heart of Amman. Within a few months of broadcasting, the radio station is already a a serious challenge to competitors! The most recent addition is the land of Bahrain where Sawt El Ghad will soon be broadcasting on 94.8 MHz! Today Sawt El Ghad is still ever expanding, keeping in mind the essence of its mission; to entertain and unite people through the endless power of music and quality entertainment
