MPR NEWS PROGRAMMING TO BEGIN BROADCASTING ON KAUR 89.1 FM STARTING SEPTEMBER 15, 2009 (Sioux Falls)—September 8, 2009—Augustana College and Minnesota Public Radio announced today that MPR News will begin broadcasting on KAUR 89.1 FM starting September 15, 2009. Augustana College will continue to own the station, located on its Sioux Falls campus, and MPR will provide day-to-day programming, operations and maintenance. “We are pleased that MPR is bringing its quality public news programming to Sioux Falls,” said Bob Preloger, vice president, Marketing & Communications. “For some time we have been of the belief that KAUR was an underutilized asset of the College and feel MPR News programming will be the best way for KAUR to contribute to our community.” Residents of Sioux Falls will hear the best of regional MPR News around the clock —programs like Morning Edition, Midmorning and Midday—as well as Car Talk,® This American Life,® The Splendid Table,® Speaking of Faith,® BBC World Service, Marketplace Money, and everyone’s favorite, A Prairie Home Companion.® “We are happy to expand our News service to the Sioux Falls area,” said Tim Roesler, senior vice president and general manager, MPR. “Since we already partner with Augustana College to provide Classical Minnesota Public Radio (KRSD 88.1 FM), it’s a natural fit for us to broadcast News to the area.” ### Augustana, a selective, residential college affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, began its 150th academic year on September 9, 2009. www.augie.edu Minnesota Public Radio® operates a 38-station radio network serving virtually all of Minnesota and parts of surrounding states and produces programming for radio, Internet and face-to-face audiences.
