community. It went on air in December 2001 broadcasting at radio frequency 94.9fm over the city limits of Tupelo. In May 2011, WKIU changed its frequency to 95.1FM in order to a larger area without interference. With the frequency changed, WKIU began broadcasting over Tupelo, Verona, Shannon, Okolona, Pontotoc, Nettleton, Saltillo, Guntown and the southern part of Baldwyn. Tupelo 2000 is a youth outreach ministry of First United Christian Church, Tupelo, MS.
