it our goal and task to bring what you want to hear and when you want to hear it! KGRG became known as Today’s Rock in late December 1988 to early January 1989 by playing the local unheard of music which brought you the now famous bands of Green River, Mudhoney, Mother Love Bone and of course the infamous band from Aberdeen known world wide as Nirvana. To keep with the ideals of today’s rock we play new music from many genres and movements that that influence the following of the Station’s community and spawning many specialty shows. These specialty shows focus on things such as Psychobilly Rock, Hardcore, Metal, J-Rock, and Experimental. Overall the listeners make the difference, and we focus on YOU the listener with our all request Friday, where we rock out with you and bring the music you want to hear by your requests. It puts YOU the audience in charge of a radio station and choosing what music we will play. As long as it’s in the station we’ll play it for you! In short. It’s been twenty-two years, and we are not only still broadcasting strong, we’re enjoying what we do for you, and we will continue to bring you Today’s Rock. As long as there is you, the listener, there will always be a KGRG! If you would like to be apart of the movement of KGRG please enroll at GRCC and take Journalism 110: Radio Lab
